Welcome to Your Foundation Unit
This tutorial has been designed to provide you with the skills to find materials (books, journal articles, websites, etc) effectively and efficiently using the library’s information resources and the Internet. You will not only learn how to develop search strategies but also to evaluate the information you find. The tutorial consists of four modules:
Each module will take around 30-60 minutes to complete. After completing each module there is a short quiz for you to undertake, to check your understanding of the key concepts. Each module has an individual tab. Underneath the main tab there are sub-pages with further information about the topic in that particular module.
The assessment for FNDN301 includes an online Moodle quiz which is based on the information literacy skills that you will learn throughout this tutorial. To gain the most benefit from the tutorial and better results in the assessable quiz, it is important to watch and interact with the video content and complete any accompanying activities.
The information literacy skills you learn in this tutorial will begin your journey of life long learning.
Good luck with your studies!
