Using EndNote with PowerPoint

EndNote X7 can be used with PowerPoint to add citations and create a bibliography.

When EndNote is installed on your computer, PowerPoint will have a tab similar to the EndNote tab in Word.

Select a reference style from the dropdown menu.

To insert a citation place your cursor where you would like a citation to appear and click on Insert Citation. You can then search for the citation in your EndNote library. Click on Insert Selected Citation if the citation is already highlighted in your library.

To create a bibliography, place your cursor where you would like the reference to appear and click on Insert Reference to find a reference in your EndNote library, or Insert Selected Reference if the reference is already highlighted in your library.

NOTE: once inserted in PowerPoint, citations and references will no longer be linked to your EndNote library. Citations and references are imported as text only. If you subsequently edit a reference in your EndNote library, it will not be updated in PowerPoint. References and citations in PowerPoint can be edited as per normal text.
