How to find books in Dixson Library....

So you need to find a book? The quickest way is to use Search on the UNE University Library homepage:

STEP 1- In Search, enter your keywords or book title in the Search box. Click search.

STEP 2- A Search results webpage will appear, with a list of resources that the Library has: books, ebooks, journal articles, and more. If you are not happy with the results (e.g. on the wrong topic), try changing the keywords.

For On-Campus students

STEP 3- When you have found a book, write down its full Call Number.

STEP 4- Using the Call Number, go to the Dixson Library maps (maps are next to the stairs) and find out which area your book is located.  Follow the Call Number signs on the end of each shelving row to find the right shelves, then read through the Call Numbers on the spines to find your book's exact position.

STEP 5- Take the book to the Service Desk with your UNE Student ID card. Friendly Library staff will process the book for you. You are then free to take the book home for as long as your loan allows!

For Off-Campus students

STEP 3- When you have found a book, open a second page on your internet browser. Go to book/loan request form. You will need to enter your student username and password.

STEP 4- Record your details and the details of the book you wish to be mailed to you. Give as much information as possible, as this will help staff to find which book you need. For more information on Off-campus loans, try the Borrowing from home webpage.
