POEM of the Week

Each week Dr. Mark Ebell, POEMs Editor, joins Dr. Michael Wilkes, NPR correspondent and Vice-Dean of the UC-Davis Medical School, for a five minute discussion about an important recent POEM. The discussion provides additional depth and insight into the issue covered by the POEM synopsis.

The wireless future of medicine

Medical Reserve

Medical Reserve is located in Dixson Library. Med Reserve includes:

  • All the textbooks recommended or referred to throughout the Joint Medical Program. The books in Medical Reserve are the latest edition of each title.
  • Videos and DVDs
  • CD-ROMs

Joint Medical Program students may borrow up to 6 Medical Reserve items at a time for five days only.

The next to latest editions of the textbooks are located in the Main Collection on the second floor of Dixson Library. These books can be borrowed for 28 days.

Loans are checked out at the Dixson Library Service Desk.  Books should also be returned to the Service Desk. Overdue items may result in a fine.


    Library resources

    Medical students and staff of the Rural Medical School have access to resouces of the University of Newcastle and the University of New England.

    Online access is provided to a large number of databases.  These include online books, journal articles, streamed videos and images.

    If you are unable to locate the resources you need contact the library via phone or Ask-A-Librarian.
